Construction of a new £80M station in Merseyside will begin in January after receiving planning permission.
The new station is due to be opened in Spring 2023 and will include step-free access throughout the station; a bus interchanges; cycle parking; links to local cycling and walking networks; passenger waiting facilities and toilets and approximately 300 park and ride spaces.
The plans for the project were lodged in September and are part of a wider extension of the Merseyrail network.
