Trio signed up to deliver Swansea renewable energy transport hub

Engineering consultancy HDR and infrastructure project solutions firm Enable have joined with technology giant Siemens to deliver a renewable energy transport hub, which will sit alongside a £1.7bn renewable energy scheme in Swansea.

Facilitated by Swansea Council and led by Bridgend firm DST Innovations, the hub is proposed as a forerunner to the larger scheme and is set to become the largest transport facility of its kind in the UK. It will include electric and hydrogen charging facilities for cars and public transport vehicles, e-bikes and e-scooters, along with recreational areas and an indoor restaurant quarter.

The larger scheme is set to include a raft of facilities including a tidal lagoon, a mega data centre, a high-tech battery manufacturing plant, green hydrogen production, floating solar panels and a battery storage facility.
